Where was God during the Holocaust 2023 — Association of Jews of Vilna and vicinity in Israel

So where was God actually during the Holocaust, in the hours that 5-year-old Daniel Schmoockler hid under a bed in his parents' apartment and soldiers ran like crazy in the Jewish homes in Camp Kylis in Vilna, hunting for all the ghetto children up to the age of 12 to be murdered. Where was the God of the Jews, in those years of horror that the Jews went through during the Holocaust.

Last night we remembered with pain and excitement, the thousands of children that were murdered on March 27, 1944 in the 'Children's Actions' that took place in the Kaunas and Vilna Ghettos. Rabbi Shaul Farber carried a Yizkor prayer, the survivor Daniel lit memorial candles, Regina Dricker and Rosa Klein played a song written in the ghetto and composed by Regina, we heard the story of the child Daniel, according to his wife Tzafrira. The well-known educator, chairman of the "Amcha" association Aryie Barnea raised the eternal philosophical issue and discussed its aspects across generations by great Thinkers: Where was God in all the chaos that Israel has experienced?
