Memorial day under Coronavirus 2020
Today we held a humble but important ceremony, in memory of Holocaust victims from Vilnius and Lithuania, near the monument to the Ponary victims in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery. Under the constraints of the Coronavirus attended Mr. Amir Maimon, Israel's first ambassador to Lithuania, Mrs. Lina Antenavichina, Lithuanian ambassador to Israel, Rabbi Shaul Farber, who prayed for the souls of the dead, as well as Mickey Cantor, chairman of the Association of Jew from Vilnius and Vicinity in Israel, and her third-generation daughter Shirley, who also documented the event. We lit six memorial candles, Mickey has placed the Association's wreath. The ambassador placed a wreath and spoke on behalf of the Lithuanian government. Following the words of the Chairman of the Association the poem 'Vilna' by Schneur was recited, the humble ceremony was concluded by singing the song 'Ponar' written by Volkovisky and Kaczerginsky. Eli Eli, written by Hannah Szenes and David Zehavi and H'atikva Anthem was sung. The unusual silence around the cemetery brought about some hard feeling inside.

My dear Mickey - it was an honor for me to be with you on that day and to
pay respect to those People . They are my People too, Mickey, they were Lithuanians....
