Alexander Tamir-In his Honor 2021
On April 2 - a rainy Friday - we gathered at Beit Vilna (following coronavirus regulations) for the premiere of the film, which was produced as a tribute to the late Alexander Tamir on his 90th birthday. Delight and excitement at this first meeting "After the Corona" was evident in every corner of the House.
The film was initiated and produced by Hadassah Virshup, the daughter of a multi-generational Vilna family and a member of the Association's culture committee. Photographed and edited by the pianist Ofer Shelley, a student of Alexander Tamir and Bracha Eden and a native of Ein Kerem.
In the film were interviewed: Dr. Zechariah Palvin, pianist; Moti Schmidt, violinist; Avi Hanani, former director of Kol HaMusica; Prof. Motti Zalkin, historian; Mickey Kantor, Chairman of the Association of Jews from Vilna and Vicinity in Israel; Prof. Rami Eden, son of Bracha Eden and Director of the Eden-Tamir Center; Prof. Dror Zemel, pianist, artistic director of the Eden-Tamir Center; Racheli Schwartz, film director of "Ponar"; Avi Elbaz, sound expert and friend.
