Visit of Tel-Aviv High School Students 2022

On the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day, April 27, 2002, tenth-grade students from Ironi Aleph High School in Tel Aviv visited Beit Vilna.

The visit included a tour of the house and an explanation of the Memorial Hall, the library and the various exhibits in the Main Hall (after light refreshments, of course).

After the tour, a conversation with the students was held on the preservation of the memory of the Holocaust, the rich culture the Germans tried to destroy in Jerusalem of Lithuania, the moral and existential dilemmas created in the ghetto between the heroism of survival and that of revolt.

The discussion was particularly fascinating as some of the students took part in the play "The Ghetto" (about Vilna ghetto) which was produced and performed at their school, and others watched the play.

We hope to continue the contact with the school which is within walking distance from Beit Vilna.
