This is the composition of the delegation hosted in September 2017 at the Vilna House in Tel Aviv. Members of the Association of Jews from Vilna and the Vicinity in Israel were also pleased to host representatives from the Association of Jews from Lithuania. The event took place in a warm atmosphere and included “Litvak” (Jewish Lithuanian) refreshments (gefilte fish, chopped herring, and homemade borscht); ideas were put forward for collaboration to commemorate the victims of the Vilna Ghetto and the Kaunas (Kovno) Ghetto, as well as for education and youth exchanges between the two nations.
