International Holocaust Day 2012 — Association of Jews of Vilna and vicinity in Israel

On the 26^th of January, 2012 a convention to mark International Holocaust Day 2012 was held in the presence of officers and soldiers of the Association's adopted naval unit.

Dr. Ben-Tsiyon Klibansky gave a lecture entitled "And the world was silent—the liquidation of the Jews of Vilna".

The chairman of the Association, Mr. Michael Shemyavitz, presented very interesting data on the role of Holocaust survivors in the struggle for the State of Israel.

Video clips of the March of the Living at Ponary – "Jerusalem of Lithuania" - were also shown.

The choir of Bet Vilna, conducted by Ms. Tamar Eitses, sang a medley of Hebrew songs.
