In Memory of Haim Lazar — Association of Jews of Vilna and vicinity in Israel

On the fifth night of Hannuka, 2013, eighty people of four generations (!) gathered at Bet Vilna for the candle lighting. People who were born in Vilna and the vicinity, their children, grandchildren and even one great granddaughter were present and together with the Navy choir and the choir of Bet Vilna sang partisan songs and Hannuka songs which were sung in the ghetto. Haim Lazar's daughter and granddaughter spoke of Haim Lazar, the partisan and on heroism. The chairperson of the Association of Jews from Vilna and the Association of Partisans welcomed the guests; sweet, warm donuts were served. Let us hope that we will continue to celebrate many more happy Festivals of Lights together.
