The Ga'on synagogue in Tel Aviv

In February, 2018 an evening was held at Bet Vilna to commemorate the founding of a synagogue in 1934 named after the Vilna Ga'on at 42 Hayarkon Street, in Me'ah Shearim (later called the Kovshim neighborhood) in south Tel Aviv. Professor Yisrael Rozenson emphasized that the founder of the synagogue, Rabbi Yosef Zvi Halevi and others (including Rabbi Landau, Mr. Shimon Rosenfeld, the philanthropist and Mr. Meir Dizengoff, the first mayor of Tel Aviv) made it prominent by introducing all the customs of the Ga'on's synagogue in Vilna.
