Visit of High School Students from Lithuania — Association of Jews of Vilna and vicinity in Israel

In March 2018, schoolchildren from Lithuania were hosted at Vilna House.

After Association members’ guided tours of the memorial room, the library and the hall, the boys and girls sat around tables according to their city of origin and listened to greetings from the Association Chairperson, the Lithuanian Ambassador to Israel and the representative of the Israeli Embassy in Lithuania, Tal Maimon, and the Chairperson of the Kėdainiai Association.

The students gave presentations and heard stories from Association members about their family history, and enjoyed the refreshments the Association members had prepared in their honor.

The following is the response we received from Diana, from the Lithuanian high school students’ group, who were warmly welcomed at Vilna House, at the beginning of their first trip to Israel: “Mickey, toda raba!!! The meeting in Vilna house touched our hearts! We're so proud that there is such an amazing community of kindhearted and generous people who still remember our country and treats us as relatives. Give our best regards to each member of Vilna House.”
