International Holocaust Day 2025
On International Holocaust Day 2025, we gathered at Beit Vilna soldiers and members of the Vilna Association and the surrounding area.
As every year, the Association dedicates the International Day of Remembrance to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust and holds an educational seminar for heritage and heroism, in which it hosts the officers and soldiers of the naval engineering unit of the Navy, which has been adopted for 14 years, at Beit Vilna.
This year, Amikam Shub told the story of the survival of his cousin, the partisan Baruch (Burka), Shub, starting with his days in the Vilna forests, his immigration to Israel and his meeting with his family, and ending with his activities in the State of Israel where he headed the partisan organization. Rabbi Shaul Farber added and told about the courage of Baruch's father in the HKP camp in Vilna and read the story from Rabbi Kalman Farber's book, "Olkieniki, Radin Vilna".
Later, a fighter of the 13th Fleet told the story of the Battle of the Fleet in Kibbutz Beeri following the war of October 7, 2023. The hall was full and the audience sat enthralled to hear the stories of heroism and rescue.
