Kaunas IX Fort Museum today (July 2023). december 8 ) invited members of the Jewish community, representatives of the cultural field, public figures and diplomats to the opening of a new exhibition "Escape from Fort IX". The event began with a minute of silence to honour Holocaust victims. Ya'arit Glezer, daughter of fugitive Pinios Krakinovsky, came to the opening of the exhibition with family members, who shared her memories. The walls of the raging fort were filled by sensitive lines created by Y. Glazer's mother - read them in Hebrew for the gathered Y. Glezer's granddaughter Maajan, and in Lithuanian - Ya'arit herself. Guests of the event listened to recorded speeches from relatives of the prisoners who escaped Fort IX - Yakov Faitelson, son of Alex Faitelson and Grisha Day, son of Mendel Deich - in which they told about their parents' experience. The importance of the escape history in today's context was highlighted by Marius Peciulis, Director of the Kaunas Fort IX Museum and Israeli Ambassador to Lithuania Hadas Wittenberg Silverstein. The event featured Alexander Rubinov's (Aleksandras Rubinovas) artistic composition, inviting guests for reflection and concentration.
